DESIGNEDGE INNOVATION FESTIVAL
Designedge Innovation Festival and the WA Program of the 2007 Australian Innovation Festival will both be launched next Friday on the 27th of April.
The launch will take place at Deloitte in Perth with featured guest speakers including Keith Jones the Managing Partner of Deloitte, Carol Hanlon from the Designedge Innovation Festival and Max Kay, City of Perth Councilor.
The program of events will be launched by Ben Wyatt MLA, Chairman of Belmont BEC - Small Business Centre and ABC drive presenter, Russell Woolfe will MC the celebrations.
Friday’s event will also promote the new Designedge Online Shopping Project which provides opportunities for emerging designers to showcase their products to a global marketplace. The Online Shopping Project is a key component of the Designedge Innovation Festival.
Forty one events staged via the Designedge Innovation Festival will cover four states around Australia. The Designedge Fashion Incubator will be exhibiting talented national and international designers at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week in Sydney during the Festival.
Fashion and business supremo, Carol Hanlon will also host a series of workshops in Perth, Sydney and in Ballina, New South Wales. In addition to this the ‘Beautiful Mind, Beautiful World’ community sewing project for Bangladesh will be held in South Australia as part of the Festival.
A variety of business and fashion based workshop will be held during the Festival at the Small Business Centre in Belmont. Workshops will cover topics such as time management, marketing to retailers, sourcing off-shore, debt crisis management and pricing and costing.
The Designedge Innovation Festival has been recognised as an associate festival of the Australian Innovation Festival. The Australian Festival is promoting the theme “clusters of innovation” in 2007 to encourage entrepreneurial activities amongst new and old businesses.
