Inspiration for business can happen at the strangest times and places, take Darren Lonman’s story for example. The idea for his business came from a chance meeting in a car park with a lover of motorbikes.

Tragically Shane was left paralysed from a motorbike accident. One day he bumped in to Darren and the two started a conversation. Shane told Darren his one wish was to be able to ride again and there it was - the inspiration and the turning point in one young man’s career.

Between full time study and part time work Darren Lonman at just 19 years of age used his own motorbike as a proto-type, spent 3 years and over $250,000 in donations to design and fully license a roadworthy hand controlled motorbike.

The business “Dreamfit” was born. A collaboration of engineering students utilising their university projects to help people with disabilities live their dreams.
